A Review of the Art of Animation resort in Walt Disney WorldIf you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World and you have a family of five or more, you may have a harder time finding resort rooms that can accommodate you, especially at a lower budget price. Disney has realized this fact, the Art of Animation resort is the answer to this problem. This resort is in the ESPN Wide World of Sports area, and is considered a value plus resort, so it won’t break the bank. There are four phases to the resort. The Cars, Finding Nemo and Lion King sections all have Family Suites, which will sleep up to six comfortably.  The Little Mermaid section has standard rooms for up to four people. There are a total of 1120 family suites and 864 standard rooms. Each section has paid great attention to detail, and is decorated to really make you feel like you have just stepped into the movie it’s based on.

The Family Suites are approximately the size of two hotel rooms, including two bathrooms. This is a great feature for my family, with three teenage girls! This makes getting ready in the morning much easier! There are three separate sleeping areas, a master bedroom with a queen size bed, a full-size sleeper sofa, and a new feature, the Innova Table bed. Your dining room table easily converts to a comfortable bed when it’s time to go to sleep. The Standard rooms in the Little Mermaid section consist of two double beds.

There are three pools at this resort, a children’s water play area, an arcade and plenty of other recreation activities when you want some time away from the parks. The Big Blue pool is in the Finding Nemo courtyard, and it’s the largest of the pools. There is also a Cozy Cone pool in the Cars courtyard, and the Flippin’ Fins pool in the Little Mermaid courtyard area. With all of these options, you won’t have any trouble finding a spot to relax.

The Art of Animation resort offers the Landscape of Flavors, a food court with five separate areas to satisfy everyone’s appetite. They have everything from burgers and pizza to low-fat smoothies and roasted chicken. This quick-service restaurant is a great option for your meals on the go! This resort also offers complimentary buses to the Disney parks, other Disney resorts and Downtown Disney, so you never have to worry about how to get around.

The next time you’re thinking of a Disney vacation for your family, try the Art of Animation resort. You’ll just have to decide on which phase to try out first. Lion King… no Cars… or maybe Finding Nemo. It’s such a tough decision!! Whatever area you choose, you’re guaranteed to have a magical time!!
