Sandals Royal CuracaoI was fortunate enough to visit Sandals Royal Curacao recently, and I have to say I was blown away by this gorgeous resort! If you want to experience luxury in a beautiful Caribbean atmosphere, then I definitely recommend Sandals Royal Curacao!

Curacao is in the Southern Caribbean Sea, and along with Aruba and Bonaire make up the ABC Islands. The ABC Islands are outside of the hurricane belt, which means they are much less likely to be hit by a hurricane than other Caribbean islands. Curacao is a Dutch island, so many of the locals speak Dutch, although you will also hear Spanish and English widely spoken.

Sandals Royal Curacao has 351 rooms and suites along the Spanish Water Bay and Caribbean Sea. There are a total of eleven dining options, eight of which are exclusive to this resort! These eleven options include three permanent food trucks, which offer a fun and casual dining option with a local artsy flair. And the food at these food trucks is delicious! One of my favorites is Vincent, which offers the most amazing French cuisine! You just have to try the mushroom soup here

This resort also offers the first 2 level infinity pool, which gives you an amazing view of the incredible blue waters of the Caribbean Sea! This pool is one of the highlights of this resort and is the scene for most of the activities during the day.

The highest-level room at this resort is the Awa Seaside Butler Bungalow with a Private Pool. These suites sit right on the beach and offer a stunning view of the sea. Each suite has a private infinity pool for you to enjoy and come with the outstanding butler service that Sandals offers. The next highest room is the Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalow with a Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub. These eight rooms are arranged in a heart formation around a semi-private pool and a lush man-made island. These rooms offer a true romantic experience, and you can find a full video of one of these bungalows on the Wishes & Dreams Travel Facebook page.

With either of these two room categories, guests will have the opportunity to use a Mini Cooper for 5 hours one day of their stay to explore the island of Curacao. This is a fun way to get out and explore the culture of Curacao, which has a fabulous, culture-rich downtown area.

Other than these two room categories, this resort offers luxury, Club Level and Butler accommodations. Each room offers a king-sized bed and a spacious area to enjoy. We stayed in a luxury room that had a gorgeous beach view!

This resort does cover a lot of area, from the main building near the infinity pool to the Awa Seaside Bungalows, but Sandals has given you a fun way to get around. All throughout the resort there are Dutch Bikes for guests to use at their leisure. Take a stroll around the resort to fully enjoy the lush atmosphere. The greenery and wildlife here are just stunning! I especially loved seeing all the hummingbirds flitting around the many flowers.

If you’re a water lover, then this resort is perfect for you! Curacao has spectacular diving and snorkeling spots! You can see all kinds of fish and sea life, including turtles and seahorses here.

One of the standouts of this resort is the staff here. They are so friendly, as all Sandals staff are, but this resort even went further! I loved getting the specialty drinks that the different bartenders made for us, and each staff member greeted us each time we passed them. And make sure to enjoy the nightly entertainment at Sandals Curacao! We enjoyed a circus show on the beach and a Broadway show in the lobby while we were there, and they were amazing!!

So, if you’re looking for somewhere a little different for your next Caribbean vacation, I would definitely recommend Sandals Curacao! The island and the resort will not disappoint!
