As most of you probably know, Disney parks around the world have been closed for some time.  We don’t have any concrete dates when Disneyland and Walt Disney World will reopen, despite the rumors that have been going around!  Your Wishes & Dreams Travel Consultant will let you know as soon as Disney reports concrete dates to us.  We do know that May reservations are now being cancelled by Disney, but we do have some hope that things may be looking up!  This week, we got two indications that Disney is moving towards opening things up again!

First, Shanghai Disneyland in China will be reopening on May 11 with controlled capacity.  The park will be introducing new policies and procedures to keep guests safe, including limited attendance, advance reservations required and social distancing in ride queues, restaurants, attraction vehicles.  Increased disinfecting and sanitizing procedures will also be implemented.  But the park will reopen!

Secondly, Disney also announced that Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) in Walt Disney World will begin phased reopening on May 20!  Only a limited number of shopping facilities and dining experiences will be open, and the Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts will continue to be closed at this time.  Disney will be incorporating enhanced safety measures in Disney Springs with the health and safety of their guests as their main concern.  Disney will use increased cleaning procedures as well as face coverings for Cast Members and guests.

During these opening days, Disney will be learning from these first steps to know how to best proceed to opening theme parks, resorts and more.  As soon as we know how and when the next phase of openings will occur, we will share that news with you.  We encourage you to follow us on our social media platforms to hear the news first.  We don’t know what theme park vacations will look like in the future, but whatever that future is, your Wishes & Dreams Travel Consultant is here to help you plan the vacation of your dreams!
