The World’s Most Magical Celebration

Did you know that the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World is on October 1, 2021?  On October 1, 1971, the Magic Kingdom opened to visitors for the very first time. But of course we can’t celebrate for just one day, can we?  Disney is giving everyone 18 months to celebrate this momentous occasion! There will be many more details to come, but here’s what we know about the celebration so far: Disney will be bringing the celebration to all four theme parks and beyond! Disney has even coined a new word—“EARidescence” to help celebrate the occasion.  You will [...]

The Magic of Walt Disney World at the Holidays

Our family spent the holidays this year in our favorite place-Walt Disney World!  Normally this is one of the busiest times of the year, but with the COVID policies in effect, we were able to enjoy each of the parks.  Here are a few tips and my experiences to take for your next Disney vacation. The first thing you need to do after making your resort reservation or purchasing your tickets is to make park reservations.  You do still need a park reservation for each day you plan to visit.  Your Wishes & Dreams Travel consultant can give you instructions [...]

Sandals Montego Bay

Sandals Montego Bay was the very first Sandals resort, opening in 1981.  This resort is still among the most popular Sandals resorts, and I was fortunate enough to be able to visit it for myself last month.  It is just a beautiful resort and should be on everyone’s list to visit. Sandals Montego Bay offers 272 rooms on 26 acres.  Just a few years ago, this resort went through a multi-million-dollar renovation including a new lobby and main bar, new swim-up suites, new over-the-water wedding chapel, a new Latitudes overwater bar and three new restaurants!  So if you’re thinking [...]

Top 5 Tips to Help Pick your Universal Studios Resort

So you’ve decided to visit Universal Studios Orlando, but you’re not sure where to stay.  There are many choices to choose from, so it can be a tough choice.  I wanted to give you five tips to help make that choice a little easier. First, decide how much time you will be spending in your room and at your resort. If you really only plan to sleep there, then you may not want to pay for extra amenities, pools, etc. that a more expensive resort can offer.  If this is the case, you may want to look at one [...]

Why it’s Even More Important to Book Your Next Vacation with a Travel Professional

The travel industry is beginning to pick up just a bit.  I honestly think we are all just tired of staying at home and want to get out and explore!  But if you are thinking about planning a vacation for your family, I wanted to share some reasons why you really should consider using a travel professional to take care of those planning details for you. Some people do love to research and take care of the details of their own trip, and that’s great.  But in the post-COVID world (if we ever get there!), there are so many [...]

Healthy Sail Panel Recommendations for Cruising Again

Cruising has been hit harder by COVID-19 than any other part of the tourism industry. Between cruise lines voluntary suspensions of sailing, CDC no-sail orders, and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) voluntary sailing suspensions, a large cruise ship has not sailed from the United States in over 6 months. While ALL of the cruise lines are anxious to get back to sailing, they all want to make sure that it is done safely, keeping in mind the health of both passengers and crew. Last spring, I was listening to a webinar featuring Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal [...]

Where Can You Go in the Caribbean Now?

If you’re looking for a luxury all-inclusive vacation, then you’re in luck!  Resorts are beginning to open up again.  And these resorts are keeping their guests’ health and safety as their top priority. Some of my favorite all-inclusive resorts are Sandals and Beaches resorts.  I love these resorts for many reasons, but mainly because almost everything is included in your price.  This may include things like golf and scuba diving (for certified divers), wi-fi and transfers to and from the resorts.  Sandals and Beaches resorts are also located on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and [...]

Visiting Walt Disney World During COVID

You probably know that Walt Disney World opened up again last month, after being closed for four months.  If you’ve wondered what’s happening there since they reopened, my family visited last month.  We took our twin girls on a surprise trip before they left for college, and we had a wonderful time! New COVID policies: Masks must be worn by all kids 2 and over. You must wear your mask at all times inside the parks, except when you are eating or drinking while staying stationary.  You cannot walk around the parks with your mask off drinking or eating.  Cast [...]
