Walt Disney World & Universal in One Trip

If you’re coming to Orlando for your vacation, it makes sense that you would want to visit both of the biggest theme park destinations in the city.  Especially if you’re flying into Orlando, you want to take advantage of everything that the city has to offer.  But actually making that happen can be a little bit tricky.  It really depends on how long your trip is, how many days you want to visit the Disney parks and the Universal parks, and what benefits you want to take advantage of.  I have two different vacation plans depending on your wants and [...]

You Need a Travel Consultant Now More than Ever!

I know that people sometimes think that they can book all their vacations themselves using the internet.  When I meet new people and tell them what I do, I have been asked more than once “travel agents still exist?”  The answer is of course YES!  And it’s honestly more important than ever to use a travel professional to help you with your vacation planning.  Although there may be instances where you can book a trip yourself, if you’re planning to travel somewhere new, or even somewhere you haven’t been before, it’s best to leave the details to the experts. [...]

Top 7 Reasons Why You’re Not Wasting Travel on Young Kids

We have been traveling with our kids since they were very young.  In fact, on our first visit to Walt Disney World, our twins were only 10 months old!  We continue to travel with them today now that they are grown, but I have some wonderful memories of those early trips.  Don’t be afraid of taking your young kids on vacation.  They might not remember it, but you sure will! While some may believe that traveling with kids is a waste of time because they won't remember any of it, that's not always the case. Many don't realize that traveling [...]

The Majestic Mirage Punta Cana

Our family visited the Majestic Mirage all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic recently.  We loved this resort and the staff, so I wanted to share our experiences with you. The Majestic resorts are actually three resorts side-by-side in Punta Cana.  There is the Colonial, the Elegance and the Mirage.  During our visit, the Colonial resort was not yet opened because of COVID, and the Elegance only opened the day after we arrived.  We stayed in the Mirage.  These three resorts do not have exchange privileges, which is a bit uncommon among all-inclusive resorts.  But each resort has the [...]

How Young is Too Young for Disney?

I often hear the following statement from my clients.  “I want to wait until my child is old enough to remember this trip.”  And then they may ask how young is too young for a Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation.  I have to say that I have two different thoughts on this topic.  Let’s explore each scenario so that you can find the best time to plan your next visit! First, there are a few situations where it might be best to wait to plan your first visit.  If this is probably going to be your one and [...]

Top 5 Tips to Help Pick your Universal Studios Resort

So you’ve decided to visit Universal Studios Orlando, but you’re not sure where to stay.  There are many choices to choose from, so it can be a tough choice.  I wanted to give you five tips to help make that choice a little easier. First, decide how much time you will be spending in your room and at your resort. If you really only plan to sleep there, then you may not want to pay for extra amenities, pools, etc. that a more expensive resort can offer.  If this is the case, you may want to look at one [...]

Why it’s Even More Important to Book Your Next Vacation with a Travel Professional

The travel industry is beginning to pick up just a bit.  I honestly think we are all just tired of staying at home and want to get out and explore!  But if you are thinking about planning a vacation for your family, I wanted to share some reasons why you really should consider using a travel professional to take care of those planning details for you. Some people do love to research and take care of the details of their own trip, and that’s great.  But in the post-COVID world (if we ever get there!), there are so many [...]

Healthy Sail Panel Recommendations for Cruising Again

Cruising has been hit harder by COVID-19 than any other part of the tourism industry. Between cruise lines voluntary suspensions of sailing, CDC no-sail orders, and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) voluntary sailing suspensions, a large cruise ship has not sailed from the United States in over 6 months. While ALL of the cruise lines are anxious to get back to sailing, they all want to make sure that it is done safely, keeping in mind the health of both passengers and crew. Last spring, I was listening to a webinar featuring Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal [...]
